Invitation to Join the Fire Explorer Program

Are you interested in becoming a Firefighter/ Paramedic? Do you know what Firefighter/Paramedics do?  What education, training and experiences are necessary to become a Firefighter/Paramedic? How hard is the job? What is the work schedule? Will I like the job?

If you are interested in becoming a Firefighter/Paramedic you probably have these and dozens more questions about the fire service. One way of learning about this career while you are a young adult is to become a Fire Explorer.

Think about becoming an Explorer Scout with the Broadview Hts. Fire Department "Post119". Post 119 is open to young adults aged 14-21, from our area, who are interested in "exploring" the field of Fire / Rescue. Post 119 is a specialized Explorer Post sponsored by the City of Broadview Hts. Fire Dept. and chartered by the Boy Scouts of America. Exploring is a Coed Division of the Boy Scouts of America. The purpose of specialized Explorer Posts is to expose these young adults to a possible career field, and to let them learn about and participate in this selected field. This opportunity will help the Explorers to determine if this is an area they want to pursue as a career. Some Explorers may find that they would like to pursue this as a career. Some may find that it is not what they expected. While others may find that although they do not want to go into the field as a career, they may still enjoy it as a hobby or volunteer work.

For further information, please contact Post Advisor Dan Schreiber or fire chief Jeff Hajek 440-526-4493.
